Arthritis Victoria reports that, "Arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions are more prevalent than any other National Health Priority Area condition

including heart disease, cancer or diabetes (as noted below) 

 

 

With the population growing over the next two decades, a substantial rise in musculoskeletal conditions will be seen. It is predicted by 2032 that cases will increase by approximately 43% to 87 million resulting in 30.2% of the population being affected. 


Health Issue 2: Chronic Stress

"Anxiety is a remarkably common problem; in fact, it is the most common mental health problem in Australia, affecting about one in four people."

"Of those reporting extremely severe levels of anxiety symptoms, 66 per cent drink alcohol, 54 per cent gamble, 47 per cent take recreational drugs and 45 per cent smoke cigarettes to manage stress," the society reveals."
